1. Booking Agreement

By booking an expedition or service with Himalayan Explore Line, you enter into a binding agreement subject to these terms and conditions. All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by our team.

2. Payment Terms

A deposit of 30% of the total expedition cost is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 90 days before the scheduled departure date. Late payments may result in cancellation of your booking.

3. Cancellation Policy

By the client: Cancellations 120+ days before departure: full refund minus £500 admin fee. 60-119 days: 50% refund. Less than 60 days: no refund. By HEL: We reserve the right to cancel any expedition due to safety concerns, insufficient numbers, or force majeure — in which case a full refund or alternative dates will be offered.

4. Insurance

All participants must hold comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude mountaineering, helicopter evacuation, trip cancellation, and medical emergencies. Proof of insurance must be provided 60 days before departure.

5. Assumption of Risk

Mountaineering and trekking involve inherent risks including altitude sickness, extreme weather, avalanche, rockfall, and other hazards. By booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks. All participants must sign a detailed liability waiver before the expedition.

6. Fitness Requirements

Participants must meet the minimum fitness and experience requirements specified for their chosen expedition. HEL reserves the right to require a medical certificate and/or fitness assessment. We may refuse participation to anyone deemed unfit for the expedition.

7. Authority of Expedition Leaders

The expedition leader has absolute authority regarding all safety decisions, including route changes, schedule modifications, and the decision to turn back. Participants must follow all instructions from the expedition leader and Sherpa team.
