FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Nepal safe to visit?

Yes, Nepal is safe to visit. Nepal is politically stable, and although there may be a strike or peaceful protest now and then, this will not typically affect travel. Health dangers in the shape of epidemics are managed, and all our guides are trained in first aid. For further reassurance, we also have 24/7 support when traveling.

What is a self-guided tour?

A private tour offers the indulgence of doing it your way with us handling the details. You’ll get to enjoy:

🔸Hand-drawn topographic maps with notes and GPS coordinates to secret trails.

🔸Private reservations (picture green lodges or snuggle-up teahouses).

🔸Daily baggage transport and meals (breakfast, picnic lunches, and dinner where applicable).

🔸24/7 emergency support.

🔸Ideal for adventure travelers who have zero hassle tolerance

Can I create my own private tour?

Yes, we organize tailored tours for groups, couples, or families. If you wish to hike the unmapped valleys of West Nepal or merge Himalayan treks with Kathmandu cultural tours, we shall develop a program of your desired type, price, and tempo.

What sort of accommodation may we anticipate?

On village trails and most inhabited treks, you will be sleeping in teahouses or locally operated lodges that don’t offer a lot (simple beds, bathroom sharing, and Wi-Fi in some building). In remote villages like in West Nepal, light accommodation in homestays or campsites sets you totally submerged in culture. Cleanliness, safety, and authenticity take number one in our priority.

How is camping on camping-style trips?

Camp trekking holidays are for the more adventurous, venturing into very remote locations like Upper Dolpo or the Api Himal base camp. We provide water-proof tents, sleeping bags, and mattresses; an experienced team (cook, porters, and guides); hot cooked full meals every day; and eco-friendly policies (we take back all trash). Sleep under starry skies and wake up to virgin landscapes.

What about food?

Meals are a treat. Enjoy bountiful Nepali food(dal bhat, momos) and Western cuisine. No matter where we eat in the villages, meals are purchased locally and prepared fresh. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.) can be met—if you give advance notice.

Are gratuities added to my cost of trip?

The tip is not obligatory, but a moral hill-climbing culture. Nevertheless, our trek operations staff always appreciate a tip as a sign of goodwill in return for the excellent service our staff strive hard to provide.

How costly is my trek?

🔸All fees and permits.

🔸Special accommodations and food.

🔸Trained porters and guides.

🔸Transport (airport transfers, domestic flights, or jeep).

🔸Emergency oxygen, satellite phones, and first-aid kits for treks in remote areas.

🔸Does not include: Personal expenses, Visas, travel insurance, international flights.

Do you have family trips?

Yes! We craft family holidays with easier hikes, cultural visits, and child-friendly activities (e.g., village pottery painting or nature scavenger hunts). Our West Nepal Rara Lake trek is perfect for those seeking tranquil beauty.

I’m traveling alone. Can I book a self-guided tour?

Absolutely! Self-guided tours are perfect for solo travelers who want independence while still having a safety net. We’ll equip you with everything you need: detailed maps, pre-booked accommodations, emergency contacts, and 24/7 support. If you prefer company, you’re also welcome to join our group guided tours, where many solo adventurers bond with like-minded explorers. Either way, you’ll never feel alone—just free!

What about solos on guided/group tours?

Solo travelers most welcome on our escorted group holidays. No single supplement if you don’t mind sharing a room. Do you require privacy? Single rooms by special request at moderate supplement

What do I get when I book?

Detailed confirmation package

🔸Pre-tour guide (lists of things to bring, visa information, culture).

🔸24/7 access to our staff with queries.

🔸Friendly “welcome to Nepal” phone call from your guide before departure.

What is the best season for trekking in West Nepal?

The best seasons with pleasant climate and good weather are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). Treks in winter (December–February) can be done at lower elevations, and monsoon (June–August) offers green landscapes but tough trails.

How tough are your treks?

West Nepal treks are easy (Rara Lake) to demanding (Api Himal Base Camp). Each trek is graded separately and pre-trek fitness guidance is provided. Easy progress enables each member, from beginner to frequent walker, to enjoy maximum benefit from the trek.

Is West Nepal permit-required?

Yes. Permits are required in far-flung areas such as Upper Dolpo or Humla. We facilitate all the formalities such as Restricted Area Permits (RAPs) and National Park entry fees so that you can focus on the adventure.

How is communication in remote areas?

Cell phone reception is spotty in West Nepal wilderness. We take satellite phones on camping trips for emergency use and let you know about communication check points. Get ready for a digital detox—unplug and relax!

🔸Trash is packed out.

🔸Solar-powered backcountry sites.

🔸Water bottles we carry (leave the plastic behind!).

🔸We do our best to take Nepal out as we have it.

Can I recharge my devices en route?
