Far Western Region

The isolated and culturally distinctive far-western region of Nepal is home to expansive vistas, a wealth of traditional culture, and unrealized tourism potential. The Far Western area, which extends from the high Himalayan peaks in the north to the level Terai plains in the south, includes districts like Darchula, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, Dadeldhura, Doti, and Kailali. Some of the most well-known mountains in this area are Api (7,132 m) and Saipal (7,031 m), which are encircled by isolated valleys and alpine forests in the Himalayan portion of the country. The Far Western Region, with its pristine scenery and cultural diversity, is one of Nepal’s least visited regions, despite its extreme remoteness and inadequate infrastructure.
